I'm pretty picky about morning talk shows: being able to watch my favorites, being particular about which ones I watch and who gives the best news OR entertainment (I'd like to watch news programs for news and entertainment for celebs).
And while you may or may not agree :), my favorites were/are Morning Joe on MSNBC for politics, Regis and Kelly for grumpy banter and The View for hearing their arguments on hot topics (although, sometimes I can only take so much of them). Anyhoo, reason being, we only have CBS's morning show and for some reason, I can't stand it. And yet I continue to watch it. Why do I always do the "OMG, this guy is so annoying - let's watch!!" I end up watching more shows because they ARE annoying to me. Anyway, what are your faves?

NERD ALERT: Oh, and can I give a shout-out to my public library? While I'd love to drop a dime at Borders (and believe me, I could!), I just can't - so back to the place of my childhood summers - the good old Library. Because I'm just getting into the swing of holding books (which I've done before, only academically but why not for Sophie Kinsella's latest novel??!!) and interlibrary loaning for books on my Amazon list I'm never going to order but want to read? Love it. Thank you public library.

I need new make-up! I only am really going to have time to run to the drugstore to fill in my basics so readers

- What are your favorite drugstore cosmetic/hair product purchases? Anything tried and true that you love (or hate)?

One of my favorites is (can't find pic) Pantene's High Humidity hair spray. I don't usually use hair spray but this stuff works great when the frizz is on high alert and it smells great!

Hi! Cute Post.
I have very, very thin blonde lashes and the only mascara that works (meaning coats and does not clump) is Cover Girl in the blue tube. Make sure you bend the tip slightly against the inside of the bottle when you first use it. It gives a better angle.
The trick to getting it off your eyes without pulling all your lashes out is to use a small amount of olive oil/kitchen oil on a cotton ball.

I LOVE CoverGirl Lash Blast (fat orange tube) - it's even better than DiorShow, which is amazing. I also love Pantene Color Expressions - they leave my fine hair smooth and shiny, but doesn't weigh it down! Sunsilk also just came out with Waves of Envy (I think), this sea spray stuff in a blue bottle. I'm in love with it. Oh, and Maybelline Shinylicious glosses.

I am a library nerd, too! In an effort to cut back and save a little more $$$ I have sworn off Borders, Amazon, and even Costco. Our library is really small and there book selection not great, but, you can go online and order/reserve books from the library system...the girls are hooked, too! My friends make fun of me, I don't care. A trip to Borders usually runs us well over $100...I am saving a bundle!

Have you ever tried ordering from ELF? I think the quality is the same and the prices are just too good to be true!

I too like the cover girl lash blast. I have very straight lashes, they touch my face when I close my eyes, and it even curls them. I use the pantene hairspray too and it works wonderfully....it can make your hair flat sometimes though.

I hate the morning news shows--we start out watching Today until they get to that embarrassingly awkward interview with some normal person who had something weird and/or heroic happen to them, and then we switch to BBC America. Just normal news, usually something you wouldn't hear about here.

For drugstore makeup, I like Physicians Formula and Neutrogena, although I am a mascara snob and I buy Prescriptives. The PF mineral makeup works great--I'm old, so I need a lot more coverage than I used to and it works well.
