Maternity Talk: BeBand Review

When I finally awoke from my nauseated and exhausted first trimester coma, I began looking for clothing options. (Yes, first trimester was pretty rough for me. But, feeling more energetic and baby is all healthy so all is good!)

My clothes were fitting (thank goodness for sundress and cardigans); however, my pants were at the beginning of not quite buttoning stages. I looked at a few reviews of the popular Bella Band, but I didn't want to spend the money on it. I settled on Target's version, mainly because of the price.

Maybe it is my body type (curvy, larger hips and smaller waist), but I couldn't get the band to work for me. It was long and yet, constantly riding up. Plus, I felt like it was too thin and therefore, obvious my pants were unbuttoned (maybe not true, but I felt like it).

I grabbed a cheap pair of Old Navy maternity capris that were on sale and they are now a weekly staple.

I've ordered a few maternity items, but I'm mostly still in my own clothes. Although, I foresee in the next month or so reallllyy needing to reconfigure the wardrobe.

What are your favorite places to find maternity clothing?

I remember thinking (before I had a baby) that maternity clothes were so cute, but once that's your only option, not so much. It was such a weird feeling to walk into a store and know that I needed EVERYTHING. Suddenly those 2 racks of Liz Lange at Target just didn't cut it.

I found my best maternity stuff at The Gap. I was fortunate to travel through a couple of cities that had a Gap Maternity or a maternity section in the Gap Baby. And, almost everytime I was there, they were having a sale. I've seen other bloggers mention places online, but I'm not brave enough and they still seem really expensive.

My baby is 5 months old and the other day I actually bought a cute maternity shirt I saw on sale. I realized I'd hit just about every season between pregnancy and post partum squish. Since I want to have another, I might as well buy cute stuff when I see it.
