As I had a late appointment on Friday afternoon, we were chatting away about plans and Valentine's Day. She made the remark that I, as a married woman, had it so much easier than her. Dealing with men, dates and being single. And I felt her. I don't have the energy for that. I haven't been single in forever and I love being married and attached. But marriage requires work ma dear. Lots of it! I say that marriage is at the top of my priority list (because it most definitely is) but how come that is the easiest thing to ignore? We both want each other to be happy. Period. So then we tend to hold in our own emotions and feelings for the other's happiness, which just isn't a good idea. Especially being in a new place, with new job and stress. Arggh, weekend conflict. Oy! (But, the reason I love my husband is that we talk it all out and get it resolved).
Speaking of love...here's the recipe I posted about for Valentine's Day. It's super easy to adapt for your own taste.
Rachael Ray's Peasant Pasta
I've used ground turkey sausage and whole wheat pasta to make it on the healthier side. Don't get me wrong the sausage version is yum. And in my opinion , fresh basil makes anything delicious. I also made up a couscous salad this weekend. I like having it on hand for snacking or for lunches. I found a whole wheat couscous (in bulk) and chopped up some red onion, tomato and black olives. I tossed all of that together with a little olive oil and feta cheese. Mmmmm. I could eat an entire bowl of it - it is so good.
Speaking of good, this Bella Sera Rosso table wine is good and well-priced. I found a bottle on sale and may go back to get more. I usually have a glass or two of wine with dinner and this is perfect. I like the label too.

I started (unofficially) running last week and this weekend P and I put in our first run. Of course, we were over confident and ran more at first. By the end, we were like, "oh yeah, you good, too? yeahhh, let's not over do it." And totally sore the next day. But in a good way. I had the lovely experience of trying on jeans and seeing a muffin top that was definitely NOT there a few weeks ago. Back to running it is! I've been comfort fooding myself hardcore this winter and it shows. But, I'm excited and energized to get back into a real workout schedule. I am one of those people who totally feeds off of (and NEEDS) a real sweaty workout. It keeps me a more sane and reliable person. Now, I just hope the cold weather doesn't deter my motivation too much!!

Good for you! A sassy new hair cut and picking up running again! I admire your confidence and willpower!
good luck back on the running schedule, I too, NEED to run/work out. I guess I feed off of endorphins. And caffeine. ha! Good luck and have fun!
I am so jealous of your hair cut, I am in desperate need of a cut/high light. Ugh!
I hear ya on the muffin top - I'm dreading swimsuit season! :) I've considered the bob too - minus the intense Kate Cruise bangs. You may have just motivated me to go for it!
Pictures of the new cut, please! :)
Oh thanks for the recipe!
So do we get to see the new haircut?
Oh and good for you on the running, I want to go for a walk so badly but when it is not getting above 0 here I can barely peel myself out of the house!
Got the same bob a few months ago and I LOVE IT!!!!
p.s. I hope you don't think that I was insulting the bangs! I definitely love the idea of wispies with the bob. I am sure that looks great.:)
