Ok, I'm not going to bore you with details of our packing, freaking out about the move in less than a week or our multiple trips to Wal-Mart and Lowe's. No, won't bore you with the mundane and how we are both in "stress" mode which equals spats and annoyed voices.
Although, I will tell you about our lovely dinner out last night where I had 2 great glasses of wine and this appetizer - oh yum, if you love scallops! They were grilled and topped with this light creamy buttery sauce. I could eat it now.
Followed by a trip to Bloom (if you don't have these, they are a mid-level type grocery store, sorta gourmet, sorta organic) where they have the BEST bakery. Like chocolate truffle cookies and last night, 3 layer chocolate mousse. Outstanding and well worth the calories.
Which brings me to the title point, I often analyze why I'm obsessed with certain things (Bloom, the store) which has dimmer light, greyish blue signage and usually has peaceful music. I like J.Crew because I love their website - i love the clean layout, the fonts - basically just how well it is done. When we are on the road or just out and about, I'm attracted to everything by a clean, appropriately fonted sign. Is it aesthetically pleasing or just snobby? I, of course, say pleasing. My husband, however, has, for example (enough commas in this sentence for ya!) has a penchant for delis/restaurants with signs that I would pass by - b/c it "looks greasy". I'm not really sure where this is going, but I'm not the only one! Right?
I'll be bad blogger the next few days but have a LOVELY weekend. Enjoy the snow and avoid the holiday rush at the malls - Yikes. I DO NOT want to the make a trip to Target this weekend, that we have been avoiding!

I know what you mean about the "clean" looking signs/fonts, etc. I am the same way. And my husband is like yours too... :) Have a good weekend.
*laugh* My graphic designer boyfriend has totally turned me into a design snob. Love it.
You are not alone! I'm very picky on things like that as well...for me, it's not just fonts, it's color combos, atmosphere, etc. My family gives me a hard time about it and I can't ever seem to give them a good "logical" reason.
Have a great weekend!
While I'm not a font snob, I will refuse to go into a store if the floor looks dirty. And I prefer carpeted dressing rooms, otherwise I feel dirty.
And I had delicious scallops for dinner too... and a few (more than a couple) glasses of wine.
I am a sucker for color, fonts, atmosphere and good marketing of all kinds.
