2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Curious, my husband and I had this conversation the other day about our childhood. His parents didn't wrap presents and he was fine with it. My parents wrapped for a few years and then didn't...I need the excitement of unwrapping! So - Santa will wrap. ( I say this now...)
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
White lights but I see the nostalgia of old school colored lights.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Usually when we were growing up and now, I'd love to.
5. When do you put your decorations up?
In stages, probably 2-3 weeks before Christmas.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert):
My mom would usually make turkey with my favorite mashed potatoes! We also started making scallops as an appetizer, which is one of my favorites.
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
My parents would put us to bed early in our crisp new Christmas pajamas usually watching Christmas Vacation or Christmas Story and anticipating the next morning.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
Well, I remember how I let my younger brother find out after we went on a little "present" exploration for hidden packages. yeah, I felt bad.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Yes, just one!
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Collected ornaments probably. I do like a themed tree though.
11. Snow: love it or hate it?
Love it for days off and playing outside, then being cozy inside. Hate it when ya can't get around town - even to the movie theater!
12. Can you ice skate?
Ha! I've attempted a few times.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
Hmmm, I'll say when my then boyfriend, now husband got me diamond earrings - that was a fabulous present. I also remember when my parents got me both a Pink bike and stack of Babysitter club books for Christmas. I was psyched!
14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Family, food and hanging out.
15.What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Brownies. No joke, my mom doesn't really bake so we would just make the ooiest, gooiest set of brownies for dessert.
16. What tops your tree?
Right now, our little Charlie Brown tree has a "jingle" ornament.
17. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
I love shopping for people. However, I have a hard time holding onto it and want to them to open it sooner. I don't mind receiving either ;)
18. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Whew, Lots - Nutcracker theme, Bing Crosby, Vince Guaraldi Trio to name some classics. There's some bluegrass Christmas music I like too. TCP's Christmas playlist is doing it for me this season!
Well, a job! A new couch would be lovely.
Actually though, Icould do a fantasy post, but my real list entails such exciting items as new running shoes, a new winter coat & some sweaters.
