One Year

Yesterday, I'm doing my usual blog perusing and run across MMM's blogiversary! Then, I'm like hmmm, MMM and I started around the same time. I realized we started on the same day!! My "premiere post" was on February 7th, last year. I remember MMM was one of my first links and I was so excited to be able to read about another bride's wedding.
I started my blog after reading Preppy Cafe (like many of you!) and reading so many other blogs. I wanted my own outlet and specifically for wedding planning since that was my ENTIRE life this time last year. I truly didn't realized how it would become an essential outlet and network for me. I genuinely appreciated and used everyone's tips/comments on wedding planning. Seriously! I loved having a place to talk about shopping and clothes (it will really surprise you that my second post was "J.Crew, you are my dirty mistress!)

But beside the fun clothing, shopping and wedding talk, it became much more. I don't edit it that much because well, it's my journal. I "proofread" in real life, but no here. I haven't told anyone, except my husband, that I have this blog. Because I don't need or want to do that. I felt like I had "met" a fabulous group of people who were similar to me. Who could give me encouragement on the crappy days and laughs on the good days. Who helped me get through the best times (marriage) and some lower ones. As time passed, I decided to let myself be more vulnerable and post my insecurities and failures - which has sincerely helped me become a more open person. I needed this blog the last few months when we moved because it gave me a social stability. I may not be the best commenter but I always read. And I appreciate those of you who have put yourselves out there. And I love reading about other people's day - doesn't matter what you do, I like reading it! I read the ones who've been doing this longer that I realized blogs existed and those who just started. I love this community of blogging and it helps me everyday to blog out my emotions. And I absolutely loved going back to read what I was doing on a random February afternoon last year.

A year ago, I had no idea where I would be. I started this blog after reading so many Knot websites on a dreary afternoon at my dull office job. I had no idea it would be this great! I still don't know what I'll be doing a year from now, but it's kinda exciting. So, Cheers! To another year!
