Good weekend

Friday, we walked on over to our favorite cheap pizza place for a bite to eat. (Mushroom & green peppers - me, sausage and mushrooms - hub). I was a little concerned about the table next to us, comprised of 3 young boys - who couldn't have been more than 12 yrs. old, at the most. Who had been dropped off to wander around our campus's downtown (which really on a Friday night- is not unsafe, but let's just say that people drink & drive - way too often - that's a whole different post, though) and had conversations about who they had made cry at school that day! And were being little a**holes to each other and the restaurant staff. Geezzzz.
Then, we watched The Ex, with Zach Braff. Pretty funny.

Saturday, oh my did we clean out. It is really hard to imagine how we accumulated that much Stuff over a few months but it feels good to clean out and get rid. I admit that we give away some unused wedding gifts to Goodwill, but seriously, we weren't probably ever going to use an electric griddle and I'd rather know that someone who needs it - could. Took the dog for a long walk in a tee shirt because it was so warm. I'm soaking up all of this warmer weather before we move because I know it is going to be COLD!

I also had a hilarious conversation with my father. Usually, when I was growing up, my mom was a teacher, so she only had the week before Christmas to get ready (God bless her - with 2 kids!). We would get the tree up about 2 weeks before Christmas, sometimes later, just depending on how busy we were. Then, my dad would be in charge of cleaning the yard and putting out some lights, etc.

But for some reason, he has morphed into Tim Taylor these days. I called him back and the first thing he tells me is that "I got the tree, the decorations everything done before Ronnie (our neighbor across the street) this year!!" My mom says he's been patting himself on the back because this is first year EVER that he has beaten Ronnie with Christmas decorations. I told him as long as I don't come to house to find reindeer on the roof and a huge blow up Santa in the front yard, I'm happy for ya!

We went to see this movie, American Gangster. Really Good movie. Like, seriously good. Denzel & Russell Crowe were fantastic in it. I'm a fan of Russell - he's so rugged!
