I was so excited to find out about these blogs,
The Dairi Burger and
BSC Headquarters. They brought back such memories from my childhood. Oh yes! I was a nerdy, quiet girl and loved to read. I remember during the summers, when we weren't at the pool, I would go to the library - check out 10 books and devour them. I remember getting lost in those books. Good childhood times. About 2 years ago, I was talking to my mother and somehow the Babysitter's Club came up. (Actually, I think it might have been for a class or something). The conversation turned to how she had slowly merged her elementary school classroom library with mine and how many of my BSC books were missing or lost. Then, I turned to Ebay (yes! thank you Ebay) and ordered a big chunk of the series for $40.00. I honestly sat around and read them for like 2 weeks straight. Ha!
Then, after reading through those blogs and thinking about all of the other books I read as a kid - I once again turned to Ebay. Again, for like $30.00, I have purchased more books that made me nostalgic for childhood. (My real excuse is that when we have kids, they will want to read these books...right? Long term investments ;)
Beverly Cleary & Judy Blume - Classics!! I can't wait to re-read them. I'm sure I'll be doing some book reports!

Sleepover Friends. Oh, great, girly series.

Nostalgia for childhood books + blogs + too much free time + Ebay = One happy nerdy camper.

I just checked out the BSC blog. So great! Thanks for posting about it.
aw, the dairy burger! i miss SVH!
I loved Beverly Cleary books. My sister is an English teacher and her classes had a party for Beverly Cleary's 90th birthday a couple of years ago. My sister also read all of the Sweet Valley High books. She went ballistic one time when my mother loaned a friend's daughter a couple of them. Her SVH books were not to be loaned out.
Oh BSC. I still have a ton of books in a box in the attic--I refuse to let my mother get rid of them!
SVH for me! Loved those books.
I remember SVH and the Babysitter's Club! I read constantly when I was young.
I love BSC Headquarters! I read it all the time! I loved those books and wanted to make my own BSC when I was younger! :)
I looooved the BSC books. I too spent time cruising through the young readers section of the library! I was also crazy for the Saddle Club series and Christopher Pike's faux-horror novels. :)
Oh my gosh I was the same way as a child. I used to just read book after book. I too loved Judy Blume, the Babysitters club, and all of the Sweet Valley Books. I remeber once my favourite babysitter made fun of the Sweet valley books. She said they were unrealistic and high school wasn't like that. I was so sad, I don't think I liked to for awhile after that comment.
How fun! I bet you will enjoy reading those again.
I read the BSC books way past when I should have stopped reading them. I really liked the BSC little sister books too.
