This weekend = running around, getting stuff done and watching Scrubs. All in all, good, I say!
- Friday, I ran around all afternoon to Target, Office Depot (trying to find a scanner that was Just a scanner), grocery store...you name it, I was there. I also made the mistake of trying to return a pair of Christmas pjs to Target. My mom got them for me as a little tradition gift but they were the wrong size and I just didn't need them. I mean $20 at Target is better than nothing, right? Long story, my mother, in all of her Christmas wrapping ways, tore the tag off and with no gift receipt was long time wasted. Oh, and don't even get me started on their Spring stuff. I had the anchor embroidered bermudas in my cart and realized that seriously? It's January and no reason to buying them. But so cute, maybe I will and just save them.
I also got some wrist weights with holes for thumbs - makes it easier for walking with them and verdict on them? Well, my arms are sore today! Also, made some fresh hummus, boy, was it good! Fresh garlic, lemon, olive oil really enhances the flavors. I could and do eat a gallon of it with carrots or chips. Mr. was tired so we walked to get some pizza and drinks and called it a night.
- Saturday, once again, we ran around getting new cell phones (my first in 3 years...they really do last!), actually purchasing the scanner, going out to lunch. I'm not a big red meat eater (not for any reason other than preference really) but I'll eat a burger once in awhile when I'm inclined. We stopped at a grill that specialized in Bison and Bison burgers. I thought, why not?
Uhh, it was tasty, but reminded myself how meat makes my stomach feel heavy. Then, we made the ROUNDS at furniture stores - checking out prices and what we wanted. Good news - Mr. and I are pretty much eye to eye taste wise. We both love the clean lines of "modern" furniture but mixed with traditional pieces, textures and fabrics. Great. We found a store that we just absolutely loved. Prices = not so much our budget. Then, we checked out your local chain furniture places which are just bad quality for somewhat bad prices. Oh! And during our trek we spied Indian and Thai restaurants that we are putting on our list to try. We are pumped about the variety of ethnic foods here. Anndd checked out a couple antique stores. Ate shrimp and salad for dinner, watched Scrubs and went to bed.
- Today, attempted to hang up several of our many paintings/prints. One thing the Mr. and I have equally been collecting are prints, framed posters and paintings - so we have a lot, which I love but makes for decision time when hanging. Made Erin's Pumpkin chocolate chip bread (some for Husband to take to his new work with him, "Only 1 though," he says - must keep the rest for ourselves!) went to the store, church and did a few loads of laundry. Whew! Also made fresh pesto pasta. And ordered these comfy slippers and jacket from LL Bean - which I am very excited about.
- Everyone got their spring stuff out already and for once, I'm not dying for it. Maybe it is because I've convinced myself I won't be able to wear it for a loong time (def. not as early as I would in SC), so I'm putting it off but damn! is it cute! Hard to resist.
- I'm having some issues with the newest member of our family: Tomtom, the GPS. We love her (for she has a lovely Irish accent that we picked out) for getting us around this new city and finding, for example, our local grocery store, so we hadn't get lost. THEN, we curse her when she repeats "turn right now, turn right now" when we are using human common sense and going the right way!! Or when we want to simply search for antique stores and she can't find a darn thing.
It is a love/hate thing with our TomTom.
I finally have my computer set up and I'm feeling more organized and ready to start making some lists! I also have a potential interview this week and a few other things brewing, so that is really exciting. I really need a pedicure too. Oh well, catch up with later this week.

Target has anchor Bermudas?! I'M SO THERE.
I really want a Tomtom! And I didn't know you could give it an irish accent, all the better. :)
Best of luck with the interview, keep us posted!
When I had a GPS I named her and would also drop the f bomb a time or two when she would get a little lippy!
Wow! You are quite a busy pair! Glad to hear you're settling in well - good luck on the interview! (anchor bermudas at target? yummy!)
